About the Book

Queer & Pleasant Danger is a powerful and moving memoir that explores the complex and often contradictory experiences of being queer and religious. Author Kate Bornstein shares her own journey of coming to terms with her identity and finding a place where she can be true to herself and her faith.

Bornstein was raised in a conservative Christian home, and she struggled for many years to reconcile her faith with her queer identity. She eventually came out as a lesbian and began to explore other religious traditions that were more accepting of LGBTQ+ people.

In Queer & Pleasant Danger, Bornstein writes about her experiences with homophobia and discrimination, but she also celebrates the joy and beauty of being queer. She offers a unique perspective on the intersection of faith and sexuality, and her memoir is sure to inspire and challenge readers of all backgrounds.
