Rachel Ann Nunes's poignant and heartwarming debut novel, Flying Home, is a story of love, loss, and the unbreakable bonds of family. Set against the backdrop of a remote coastal town, the novel follows the journey of a young woman as she navigates the complexities of grief, forgiveness, and the enduring power of hope.
Twenty-year-old Lily Harper has always dreamed of leaving her small coastal town and exploring the world. But when tragedy strikes and her beloved father is killed in a car accident, Lily's world is turned upside down. She is left to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and find a way to move forward.
As Lily struggles to cope with her grief, she finds solace in the unexpected friendship of Jake, a mysterious young man who has just moved to town. Jake is a kindred spirit who understands Lily's pain, and together they begin to heal their wounds.
But Lily's journey is not without its challenges. She must confront her own feelings of guilt and anger, and she must learn to forgive those who have wronged her. Along the way, she discovers the strength of her own heart and the resilience of the human spirit.
